Hi Reader, I was standing in a room full of business owners from right across the country. I knew most of them, if nothing else by name and reputation. This was the 'in' crowd. People who had it all figured out. I was not of them. I went home feeling slightly depressed. I was never going to really belong to that crowd. Story of my life. So imagine my surprise a few years later when Jo remembered exactly the same conversation feeling exactly the same way. Except she thought I was part of the cool group. That sounds a bit screwed up doesn’t it? Feeling like frauds, in the same room at the same time. We were both wrong. The biggest revelation I had about imposter syndrome is that everyone gets it at some time or other. So I have a theory. Not everyone agrees but I know I'm right. It works for me. Imposter syndrome is something that follows business owners around, particularly creatives, like a nasty stain. Wouldn't it be easier just to admit that? It's a feature. It's your friend. It's a sign you're growing. Sure, you could stay in your comfort zone and never do anything new. But your comfort zone has a wonderful place where nothing new happens. So good luck with growing a business with that. The best way to blast through fear is to not to sitting in the corner worrying about what people might think or how they might react. It's to do something. Because people will always be people. The best way to slap down imposter syndrome is to do things with confidence. Sometimes that means styling it out and hoping for the best. Sometimes that means having a plan. Most people I work with (no, correct that, all business owners I work with) are good at what they do. They get a bit confused sometimes about how to talk about themselves but that can always be fixed. They doubt. They want to be ready and they wait for the imposter syndrome to have a day off. But that bugger is a hard worker. Never complains, never takes time off. So you need clarity. That will give you confidence. That will put your imposter syndrome out of a job. That's what the Message Clarity Blueprint is for. It's a 90-minute discussion where we strip down your story and your message and build it back up again. We'll work out that hidden thread that pulls your message into one irresistible brand story. You'll get a bunch of materials to work on after that. Then there'll be a follow up session to check we got everything right. Story confidence sorted. I made a client cry once. Happily of course (true story). Sign up here. Change your business for just £347. Cheers. Mike PS: Just sayin'

Don't believe what you've been told, your story matters. No need to be extraordinary, just human. Your humdrum in someone else's life changing. Read on.
Hi Reader, Today is the last day I’m flagging the early buyer bonus. After today the Toolkit stays on sale. It’s evergreen. It’s not going anywhere. But the personalised Loom walkthrough disappears when the 20 spots are gone. This week I’ve kept every email focused on one thing. The gap between how good you actually are and how clearly that comes across to the people who need to choose you. That line should probably have been the first thing I wrote on Monday. It’s the whole problem in one...
Hi Reader, There’s been a lot about messaging this week. It's almost over. The invisible expert problem. The pause on discovery calls. The knowledge you can't seem to put into words. What actually makes you different. And I'd be surprised if at least some of you aren't sitting there thinking "I know this applies to me. I just don't know where to start." You open your LinkedIn profile to edit it. Again. Stare at it for ten minutes. Close the tab. You sit down to rewrite your website headline....
Hi Reader, You've had me banging on about messaging all week. I make no apology for that. It's the first thing you need to get right. But let me get specific. After years of working through this with clients, there are three things that almost everyone leads with. None of them differentiate you. Nada. Credentials. Your qualifications, your years of experience, your past clients. Necessary. But they won’t make you different. Everyone has credentials. Prospects assume you know what you're...
