Hi Reader, Forty minutes into the call and I already know you're the real thing. Deep expertise. Solid track record. Exactly the kind of person your ideal clients should be choosing. Then I ask the question I always ask. "So, what makes you different?" And there it is. The pause. Sometimes a long, interminably long pause. Then you start scrambling for the usual things like like a dog that finally caught the cat and has no idea what to do with it. Your credentials. Your processes. Something about "quality" or "relationships." All true, no doubt. Same as everyone else. Sigh. The painful part isn't the pause. It's what comes just before it. That flicker of recognition. The moment you realise your answer is flim flam. You've felt it before. On the sales call that went brilliantly until the proposal landed and they went quiet. Deathly quiet. In the follow-up email you sent three times. In the "we'll think about it" that meant "we already have." That moment doesn’t mean you don’t have a story worth telling. It means the story you're telling has never been properly diagnosed. You've never had anyone show you exactly where the gaps are, which parts are costing you clients, and what to fix first. That's what I built the Message Clarity Audit Toolkit for. A score. A specific gap analysis. Three things you can fix this week. Not vague advice. Not a list of principles. An actual diagnosis, with a 30-day roadmap to act on it. One of my clients described his old messaging as "a Wikipedia entry about himself." After working through the same framework this toolkit is built on, he said prospects started telling him they felt like he already understood their problem before they'd finished explaining it. So ... The early buyer bonus, a personalised Loom video from me once you've worked through it, is still available for the first 20 buyers. Mike |
Don't believe what you've been told, your story matters. No need to be extraordinary, just human. Your humdrum in someone else's life changing. Read on.
Hi Reader, Today is the last day I’m flagging the early buyer bonus. After today the Toolkit stays on sale. It’s evergreen. It’s not going anywhere. But the personalised Loom walkthrough disappears when the 20 spots are gone. This week I’ve kept every email focused on one thing. The gap between how good you actually are and how clearly that comes across to the people who need to choose you. That line should probably have been the first thing I wrote on Monday. It’s the whole problem in one...
Hi Reader, There’s been a lot about messaging this week. It's almost over. The invisible expert problem. The pause on discovery calls. The knowledge you can't seem to put into words. What actually makes you different. And I'd be surprised if at least some of you aren't sitting there thinking "I know this applies to me. I just don't know where to start." You open your LinkedIn profile to edit it. Again. Stare at it for ten minutes. Close the tab. You sit down to rewrite your website headline....
Hi Reader, You've had me banging on about messaging all week. I make no apology for that. It's the first thing you need to get right. But let me get specific. After years of working through this with clients, there are three things that almost everyone leads with. None of them differentiate you. Nada. Credentials. Your qualifications, your years of experience, your past clients. Necessary. But they won’t make you different. Everyone has credentials. Prospects assume you know what you're...
