Hi Reader, II went back to a blood sugar monitor. There’s a little white disc hanging off my arm. I’ll spare you the photo. It’s a continuous glucose monitor that sends my blood sugar levels to my phone every few minutes. It changed my life when I wore one in the summer (remember summer?) Within three weeks, I’d brought my blood sugar down from “what the hell are you doing” territory to almost normal. I lost weight. I slept better. I woke up with actual energy instead of feeling like I’d been hit by a truck. But they only last 15 days and you have to replace them. I took my eyes off the ball. I reverted back to some (but not all) of the old habits. Bread is my kryptonite. And the numbers went through the roof. And that’s not the only thing that breaks down when you fall off the wagon. High blood sugar affects your sleep. So you wake up foggy. Foggy mornings mean no productivity. No productivity means no content. No content means no visibility. No visibility means no clients. And we all go to hell in a hand cart. I’ve been thinking about this because building in public—the thing I keep telling you to do, the thing I’m trying to do myself—requires the same kind of discipline as managing diabetes. You have to show up. Every day. Do the small things that are easy to do and easy not to do. Write the post. Send the email. Record the video. For 90 days. Not three weeks. Not “when you feel like it.” 90 days. Maybe it’s me but my blood sugar monitor didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know. You can’t manage what you don’t measure. That’s the thing with numbers, they’re brutally honest—they tell me exactly what that bread or ice cream does to me. And out of sight, out of mind. Back to old habits. Your business is the same. If you’re not tracking what you’re posting, who’s responding, what’s converting—you’re flying blind. And when you’re flying blind, it’s really easy to just… stop. So I’m putting the monitor back on. And I’m asking you: What’s your monitor? What are you measuring? What are you tracking? What’s keeping you honest about whether you’re actually doing the work or just thinking about doing the work? Because thinking about it doesn’t bring down your blood sugar. And it sure as hell doesn’t fill your pipeline. I’m starting to get my sugars under control, now let me go and do some business numbers because you knew I was behind on that as well, didn’t you ? Cheers. Mike P.S. If you’ve been thinking about finally getting your story straight—the one that actually explains why clients should choose you instead of the seventeen other people who do “the same thing”—I’ve got four spots left this month for the Back Story to Brand Story intensive. It’s a week-long intensive that only requires you to be on calls for a few hours. I do the leg work. I’ll pull out the story you’ve been sitting on. You’ll leave with the positioning that makes you the only choice. Special offer £1,000 + VAT till the end of the month. Take a look at the details here. Reply to this email if you want one of the spots.

Don't believe what you've been told, your story matters. No need to be extraordinary, just human. Your humdrum in someone else's life changing. Read on.
Hi Reader, Today is the last day I’m flagging the early buyer bonus. After today the Toolkit stays on sale. It’s evergreen. It’s not going anywhere. But the personalised Loom walkthrough disappears when the 20 spots are gone. This week I’ve kept every email focused on one thing. The gap between how good you actually are and how clearly that comes across to the people who need to choose you. That line should probably have been the first thing I wrote on Monday. It’s the whole problem in one...
Hi Reader, There’s been a lot about messaging this week. It's almost over. The invisible expert problem. The pause on discovery calls. The knowledge you can't seem to put into words. What actually makes you different. And I'd be surprised if at least some of you aren't sitting there thinking "I know this applies to me. I just don't know where to start." You open your LinkedIn profile to edit it. Again. Stare at it for ten minutes. Close the tab. You sit down to rewrite your website headline....
Hi Reader, You've had me banging on about messaging all week. I make no apology for that. It's the first thing you need to get right. But let me get specific. After years of working through this with clients, there are three things that almost everyone leads with. None of them differentiate you. Nada. Credentials. Your qualifications, your years of experience, your past clients. Necessary. But they won’t make you different. Everyone has credentials. Prospects assume you know what you're...
